Plot: Cardiothoracic surgeon Oh Yeon-joo’s (Han Hyo-joo) father mysteriously went missing while writing the last chapter of his webtoon “W”. Yeon-joo goes to his office and is shocked to see a scene of the dying Kang Cheol (Lee Jong-suk), the main character of W, on her father’s computer. While reading a note left behind by her father, a hand from the monitor pulled her in and she finds herself on the rooftop of a building next to a bleeding man. She manages to save him and realizes that the person she saved was Kang Cheol. Yeon-joo later discovers that she can only leave the webtoon based on Kang Cheol’s change in feelings. When that happens, the words ‘to be continued’ will appear and she will teleport back to the real world.

What I Think + Spoilers: I’ve never been a big fan of Lee Jong-suk. A friend recommended Pinocchio but I didn’t like it as much as she did. I think this show made me like Jong-suk a little bit more. W is refreshing, it’s not the usual chaebol plot or noona romance. The episodes kept me captivated that I forgot to sleep. Haha! So this is in my must watch list because the story is good. The ending is good, it gave us a few feel-good minutes. The only thing that’s bothering me is how can a cartoon character really become human and vice versa? But I don’t want to think about that, I just want to enjoy the story.

So my favorite scenes include the part where they had ice cream and Chul comfortably licked on her ice cream.

When they were driving in the car and he told her he loves her. There were funny scenes too! The one where she kissed him and she showed Chul her nude self. Jong-suk can be adorable too like this scene.

Okay, enough Jong-suk scenes! Haha. So the webtoon ended with Chul dead and Yeon-joo’s back in the real world. However life inside the webtoon continued. Sung-moo helped Chul thus this violated the toon’s setup as he was a villain. Chul didn’t die, Do-yoon got to him and called the ambulance. Sung-moo drew Cheol-Ho’s suicide and sent evidence to the police. Sung-moo disappeared because the protagonist is now happy. He did leave a letter to Chul with a photograph of him smiling. Chul spent two years in prison and then he went to the real world. Only a week has passed in the real world. Chul found Yeon-joo passed out at the bus station, the same station where he died in the webtoon. He showed her his dad’s photograph. It was a good scene at for the ending!
