3-5-2017 7-49-10 PMWhisper just finished, finally! This has been one long tense drama besh. Whew! But it was a very satisfying finale. Yung feeling mo na everyone got what they deserved, you feel justified, I mean I felt justified. Pero seryoso, I wanted to stop watching this one mga mid-season coz it was just full of conflict and feeling ko it was getting too complicated. It was full of manipulation and lies and people with ulterior motives. Nakaka-stress na! Pero I stuck around coz I was curious how they’d end it.

3-5-2017 8-07-12 PMSo basically, Lee Bo-young plays Shin Young-joo, a charismatic female section chief police officer who is passionate in her career. With her family facing financial difficulties, she has to undergo the agony and pay debts for her family. She speaks harsh, but has a heart of gold. Lee Sang-yoon plays Lee Dong-joon, a virtuous elite judge, brilliant-minded and warm-hearted, and has a willingness for weak people who needs a listening ear. To cut it short, both of them join alliances together to uncover defense industry corruption at Taebaek, the nation’s biggest law firm, which turns out to be one of the top scandals ever.

Introverted-BossWhat I think + Spoilers: Introverted Boss is from the same director and writer that gave us Marriage Not Dating. Actually hindi lang pala the director and writer, there’s two more from that show, the main lead Yeon Woo-jin who played Eun Hwan-Gi and Heo Jung-min (Eom Sun-bong), one of the employees of the PR company. Considering that and the teasers, I figured this is going to be another light rom-com with out of the box twists.

412v4ujThe first episode caught me off guard coz it was kind’a dark, I expected it to be light and fun. But it started with Ji Hye jumping off the building. She fell on top of the car parked in street with people bustling around on Christmas eve. I kind off hesitated about the show but I was willing to give it a few more episodes.

ep9-0So this show follows the story of an extreme introvert CEO of a PR company Eun Hwan Gi (Yeon Woo Jin) and the energetic extrovert Chae Ro Woon (Park Hye Soo). Due to Hwan Gi’s extreme shyness, people misunderstood him and called him “silent monster”. Behind the two lies the mysterious suicide of Ji Hye, Ro Woon’s older sister and secretary of Hwan Gi.

Screen Shot 2017-01-23 at 11.46.58 AMRo Woon thought that her sister was mistreated by her boss that one day she got fed up and eventually jumped off the office building. Sobrang determined siya to expose Hwan Gi for the monter that she thought he is, so she worked her ass off to become part of Hwan Gi’s PR company, which *clap clap* she eventually did. The first few episodes, I hated her. She’s rude and abrasive! That part where she went inside Hwan Gi’s office and looked around, I was like girl – what is wrong with you? It’s your first day at work and you had to the nerve to poke around the boss’ office! Are you for real?! But later on, her personality grew on me. *Haha!*

Ofiicial-Mainpage-1

First and foremost, I’m not a big fan of anything that says time travel. Time paradox can get complicated kasi. Thus I seldom watch anything to do with it. With that said, my review on this one is not very objective. The only reason I watched this is because a good friend recommended it.

36d63e13a41b4914c198498542211de7What I think + Spoilers: A lot of bromance and pretty boys on this one! So basically Lee-gak is from the Joseon era whose wife was murdered. While investigating, he along with his entourage jumped to present time, to be exact, in Park-ha’s rooftop house. Park-ha grew up in the US and she came back to Korea to look for his father. May reincarnation plot din ang show. Ang daming funny moments ng show like when Lee-gak and the guys were trying to adjust to the current world. However, mid-season, I got bored. Medyo predictable na sya, alam mo na kung sino yung bad and good guys. Medyo light sya, nothing extraodrinary happened. The ending is realistically sad. They did not end up together as Lee-gak was brought back to his time. Will I watch this again? No. Will I recommend this? No. However if you’re into temporal paradoxes, go for it.

20120412_rooftop_prince_yoochun_jimin_2Synopis: Tae-mu (Lee Tae-sung), after killing his lost cousin in the United States, returns to Korea, claiming that his cousin, Tae-yong (Park Yoochun), could not be found in New York City. Meanwhile, Tae-mu has been having a secret affair with Se-na (Jeong Yu-mi), his secretary, who, in turn, runs into her long-lost stepsister Park-ha (Han Ji-min). Park-ha has been missing for a prolonged period of time and it is revealed that she was in the US after Se-na abandoned her in a truck driving away when she was nine.

Hwang Jung-eum, Ji Sung, Kill Me Heal Me, Kim Yoo-ri, Oh Min-suk, Park Seo-joon, Psychological, Romance

1420591107-93-orgWhat I Think + Spoilers: Another psychological romance for this month. Whew! This is a reunion of Park Seo-joon and Hwang Jung-eum from She Was Pretty. I loved them both from She Was Pretty although I had a slight SLS. I’m not much of a fan of psychological dramas (but I loved Cheese in a Trap for the reason that it was Park Hae-jin) but this was recommended by a good friend so I thought I should I give it a try.

fullsizephoto546886Oh Ri Jin (Hwang Jung-eum), a first-year psychiatric resident was adopted by Oh Ri On’s   (Park Seo-joon) family. They grew up as twins. Ri On is a writer who has been secretly digging Ri Jin’s past. Although Ri Jin knows that she’s adopted, she does not have any memory of her childhood. She however fears basements and fire.

Jung So-min, Kim Hyun-joong, Lee Si-young, Lee Tae-sung, Playful Kiss

3855_nowplay_smallSynopsis: Based on the popular manga, Oh Ha Ni is a clumsy student who falls for the perfectionist, Baek Seung Jo. However, Seung Jo is indifferent towards her and rejects her love. When Ha Ni’s house collapses, she and her father moves into his long-time friend’s house. It turns out that Seung Jo is the friend’s son and Ha Ni is given the opportunity to be near the guy she loves.

My thoughts: Ng dahil kay Kim Hyun-joong because I had a second-lead syndrome sa Boys Over Flowers. The first few episodes were fun and then it dragged on. She was just hopelessly and stubbornly crushing on Seung Jo that it became irritating. May mga tao ba talagang sobra kung magmahal? Na kahit alam mo na the guy does not feel the same way and embarrasses you, go pa rin? Hindi ko gets so I honestly skipped to the last 2 episodes. The ending was a happy one, they got married and all.

Although a lot of people feel differently I will not really recommend this.

Flower Boys Next Door, Flower Boys series, Kim Ji-hoon, Park Shin-hye, Yoon Shi-yoon

Plot: Go Dok-mi (in Korean, literally “lonely beauty”) is a shy, frugal freelance copy editor who refuses to leave her apartment or interact with people as much as possible. Every day, using a pair of binoculars, she steals peeks at her neighbor across the street, Han Tae-joon, as he goes through his daily morning routine. She had fallen in love with Tae-joon at first sight, after witnessing him pick up a puppy in a box and taking it home. When she looked out her window and saw him living in the apartment opposite hers, she thought of it as fate.

Webtoon artist Oh Jin-rak lives in the same apartment building as Dok-mi. He has been in love with Dok-mi for ages, and anonymously leaves a carton of milk with a post-it attached by her door everyday. He created a webtoon with his drawing partner Oh Dong-hoon, titled “Flower Boy Next Door”, based on Dok-mi’s life as well as his desire to draw her out into the world.

Enrique Geum, a genius video game developer, arrives in Seoul from Spain. His reason for coming is “cupid’s arrow.” Though he’s in love with his best friend Yoon Seo-young, she has feelings instead for his older cousin, Han Tae-joon, so he intends to play cupid for the two. That same day, a new neighbor Watanabe Ryu moves into the apartment across to Dok-mi and Jin-rak.

When Enrique comes to stay at Tae-joon’s apartment, he catches Dok-mi in the act. Naturally curious and inquisitive, Enrique decides to find out the reason why Dok-mi is living in recluse. Meanwhile, Jin-rak is threatened by Enrique’s sudden intrusion into Dok-mi’s life. With all these new men suddenly entering her life, Dok-mi’s solitary and orderly world is turned upside down.

What I Think: Park Shin-hye + Kim Ji-hoon + Yoon Shi-yoon, should be enough to get your attention. However I felt like this is just a so-so drama. The plot is very light and the scenes were not that captivating. Honestly, I just ran thru the scenes. This one has happy ending. Some might think this is a must watch so who knows, you might just love this.

c4a2369df604cbddf6769b0e6b3ca8a2What I Think + Spoilers: A time-travel plot. Another friend-recommended drama. Hindi ko peg ang time travelling plot coz it can get complicated. The story centers around obscure actress Choi Hee-jin (played by Yoo In-na, in her first leading role) who falls in love with Kim Bung-do (played by Ji Hyun-woo), a time-traveling scholar from the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910) who jumps 300 years into the future to the 21st century.

Ha Ji-won, Lee Jin-wook, The Time We Were Not in Love

the_time_we_were_not_in_love_2Best friends turned lovers? Yes, it does happen. Sometimes, a man and a woman can’t stay just friends forever. One of them is bound to fall for the other. If they’re lucky enough, it might be a mutual thing. This is one of the few bestfriends theme in the world of KDrama. Ha Ji-won plays Oh Ha-na and Lee Jin-wook plays Choi Won. They’re both 34 years old with stable jobs. They’re neightbors and have been friends since high school.

01032This one will show you how their relationship moved on from being bestfriends to taking it a step further. The kind of friendship na sobrang comfy na kayo with each other and the awkwardness nung naging kayo na. Yes, you’ll get that feeling here.

Sorry, as others might disagree, but I did not enjoy this that much. Maybe because of the predictable flow of the story. This might have a different appeal to people who had this kind of experience.
